New research has revealed that women are more likely to have an affair than men.
A study by the UK's Opera North revealed that four out of ten women admitted to cheating on their partner compared with three in ten men.
The poll of 3,000 adults showed that over a third of the ladies who played away said their minor indiscretion occurred by accident when men got the wrong impression from flirting.
Most of those women who strayed did so while out at a club or on a work's drink with a colleague, the results revealed.
A spokeswoman for the organization said: "The poll seems to suggest many women consider flirtatious behavior as harmless and can easily forgive themselves the odd 'indiscretion'."
Further findings from the research showed that over one women in ten claim they will never be totally faithful to a partner as 'life is too short'.
Additionally, one in five admitted that they only ever committed an 'indiscretion' after drinking too much.
Men in uniform or figures of authority proved to be tempting for women.
