Golf star Tiger Woods, who recently hit the headlines after a series of kiss-and-tell stories, has been targeted by the comedians on hit US show Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Blake Lively and Keenan Thomson played the golfer and his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren in the skit, which made fun of the car accident which is said to have occurred after she found out about his infidelity.

The clip shows Woods with a golf club bent around his head and his arm in a sling as Nordegren seeks her revenge.

Since the accident, a number of girls including Rachel Uchitel, Jamiee Grubbs, Jamie Jungers, Mindy Lawton and Cori Rist have all claimed to have had affairs with Woods.

However, the sketch has been criticized by some media outlets for making light of domestic violence.

The topic was thought to be particularly inappropriate given that the show's musical guest for the evening was pop star Rihanna.

The Umbrella singer appeared in court earlier this year after her former boyfriend R&B singer Chris Brown was found to have beaten her during a row at a pre-Grammy Awards party in February.
