Kia Motors' Soul'ster Concept has been named as the 2009 Concept Truck of the Year at an awards ceremony in North America.
The vehicle was given the prize during the 2009 North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards, which were held in Michigan.
Over two dozen journalists were the judges on the panel which deemed the car to be worthy of the accolade.
It is the first time a Kia model has won a concept award.
Tom Kearns, chief designer at Kia Design Center America, said that the design team were presented with a "a tremendous platform for expression" with the vehicle and strove to emphasise a different side to the character of the car.
He added that the manufacturer was honoured to have received the award, which is further proof of the company's desire to alter how the Kia brand and vehicle are perceived by consumers and the motoring industry as a whole.
The Soul'ster is a two-door, open-top vehicle, which is based on the 2010 Soul.
Other winners at the awards, hosted by the South East Automotive Media Organization, included the Cadillac Converj, the Karma Sunset and Volkswagen's BlueSport Roadster.
