Place your bets and set your TiVos! March Madness, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Division 1 Championship, is upon us. There are numerous games to watch and also numerous players to keep an eye on this year, some who are generating NBA buzz. They keep getting younger and better every year so this year is sure to please the die-hard b-ball buff. Check out the top 5 players to watch during 2010 March Madness:

5. Kyle Singler, Duke. This 6-foot-8 sophomore is already leading his team in only his second year on the team. Singler has averaged 16.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game and is a skilled 3-point shooter. This forward is one to watch out for this year, and most likely for years to come.

4. Andy Rautins, Syracuse. With a whole team of Andys, any school would be unstoppable. Why? Because he’s consistently one of the best defensive players on the court today. He’s also great at picking his shot for three pointers on the other end of the floor. He won’t wow anyone with style, but he’s got substance to spare.

3. Cole Aldrich, Kansas. Cole is a beast of a man, with both size and skill making him a formidable player for the Jayhawks. He’s got a great jump shot, and he’s put Kansas on the map this season.

2. Evan Turner, Ohio. After soundly beating Georgia tech for a big win, Ohio’s Evan Turner has proven that he’s still got what it takes to lead the Buckeyes to victory. Without him, Ohio wouldn’t be nearly as remarkable, but with a guy like this on the team, they’re a juggernaut.

1. John Wall, Kentucky. Wall is the up and coming freshman powerhouse of Kentucky, thanks to Coach Cal. While Turner is widely argued to be the best player in the college basketball circuit, Wall’s potential is certainly giving him a run for his money.

These players are sure to be seen as the leaders of their respective teams, but we all know that a single player can’t win the championship. Keep an eye out for the following teams to lead the way in the tournament.

Cornell – Cornell boasts a team full of seasoned seniors who have been around the court a few times, and it shows. They’ve got great players in Ryan Wittman, Louis Dale, Jeff Foote, and Jon Jaques.

Kentucky – Kentucky snagged an amazing coach this year, and with him came a player that is arguably one of the best in the country, freshman John Wall. In addition to wall, there are other up and coming freshmen, like Eric Bledsoe. It’s an exciting season for sure, as fans wait to see how Wall performs.

Syracuse – Syracuse is a team with solid defense, and it’s a shame that they ended up in the west division, which is littered with some tough competition. Still, they’ve had an amazing year, and if they keep it up, they may very well make the final four. Will they win it all? Well, that probably depends on Kansas.
