When it comes to Super Bowl party food ideas, sometimes it is well worthwhile to stray from tradition and try something new and interesting. Gourmet Super Bowl food ideas can be easy and delicious.
Here is a small selection of Super Bowl recipes that are sure to be a hit at your next party.
Mini Pizza Rolls
For this recipe you will need 15 ounces of tomato sauce in a flavor of your choice, half a pound of ground beef that has been cooked and drained, a quarter cup of diced up pepperoni, a cup of shredded mozzarella and 16 oz of refrigerated crescent rolls, or two packages. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the sauce, pepperoni, beef and cheese in a bowl. Separate the crescent roll dough into 12 rectangles, pressing the seams together. Spoon approximately 2 tbsp of filling into each of the rectangles, then roll the dough up like a jelly roll. Each of the rolls can then be cut into three smaller rolls. Lightly grease a baking sheet and line the rolls up, seam-down. Bake them for approximately 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Beer Cheese Dip
For this recipe you will need 2 lbs of shredded sharp cheddar, a medium onion, half a teaspoon of Tabasco sauce, 2 tbsp of prepared horseradish, a half tsp of crushed red pepper, 2 cloves of garlic and a bottle of flat beer. Combine all of the ingredients except for the beer, then slowly add in the beer until you achieve the desired consistency for your dip. This dip is excellent with chips, crackers, vegetables and anything else that you might like to dip.
Fiesta Dip in Seven Layers
For this recipe you will need 16 ounces of low-fat, softened cream cheese, 2 tbsp of taco seasoning, 2 cups of prepared guacamole, 2 cups of salsa, 2 cups of iceberg lettuce that has been finely shredded, 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar, 1 cup of chopped green onion and 4 ounces of sliced olives. Mix the cream cheese and the seasoning mix together in a bowl, spreading the mixture onto the bottom of a glass dish that is at least 13″ x 9″ x 2″. Top the cream cheese with the guacamole, then the salsa, the lettuce, the cheese, the onions and finally the olives, making a separate layer for each. This dip goes especially well with chips of all kinds.
Hot Poppers
For this recipe you will need 3.5 ounces of whole jalapenos, 1 cup of shredded cheddar, 3 oz of cream cheese that has been softened, a quarter cup of fresh cilantro, half a cup flour, 2 large, lightly beaten eggs and 2 cups of crushed cornflakes. Cut the jalapenos lengthwise and remove the seeds. Combine the cilantro, cheddar and cream cheese together and fill the jalapeno halves with the mixture. Allow peppers to chill until the filling has become firm. Dip each pepper in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the egg and coat with the cornflakes. Fry dipped jalapenos in vegetable oil in a medium sized skillet until they are golden brown and allow to drain on paper towels before serving.
