Simpsons Celebrates 20 Years

TV favorite the Simpsons celebrates 20 years of entertaining audiences this week.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the family’s pets Santa’s Little Helper and Snowflake first aired in a full-length episode on January 14th 1990.

Over the years, less than intelligent nuclear factory worker Homer has got himself in to all manner of sticky situations much to the annoyance of his long-suffering wife Marge.

Bad boy son, Bart, famous for catchphrases like “Don’t have a cow man” and eat my shorts is perhaps the series’ most iconic character.

The cheeky child has been getting away with mischief in various episode’s throughout the show’s double-decade history.

After years of worldwide fame, which saw images of the family adorn everything from skateboards and t-shirts to video games and fancy dress outfits, series creator Matt Groening finally decided to give The Simpsons a silver screen outing.

The Simpsons Movie hit theaters in 2007 and saw Homer walking a pet pig across the ceiling of the family’s Springfield home while singing to the tune of the Spiderman theme.
