Department Store Staff to Offer ‘Lingerie Runner’ Service

British men are to receive some much-needed help in the underwear department this Christmas after one department store launched a lingerie runner service for men in the build-up to Christmas.

John Lewis has set up ‘men only’ zones its shops where assistants will deliberately hover around to help men who want to make sure they “get it right” this year, the Sun reported.

The retailer said the service will make shopping for underwear less embarrassing and take the confusion out of knowing which size or style to buy.

Maria Walker, chief lingerie advisor at John Lewis, explained that most lingerie departments house a large number of brands and sizes, putting men in a muddle over gifts.

“Our lingerie runner is a fantastic new service for men who want to get it right this Christmas,” she told the newspaper.

“We stock 28 lingerie labels in 70 bra sizes, so no wonder browsing the lingerie department can be an unnerving experience for a man. Our expert John Lewis Lingerie Runners take the embarrassment out of lingerie shopping by doing the hard work for them while they relax in the private ‘men only’ zone,” she added.

John Lewis set a new company record last week after taking £102.4 ($164.5) in just seven days.
