Madonna Ousted as Face of Fashion Label
Iconic pop star Madonna has been replaced as the face of fashion house Louis Vuitton.
Young model Lara Stone, who is currently dating British comedian David Walliams, will replace the Material Girl star for the label's 2010 spring-summer campaign.
Louis Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs said he opted for Stone as the campaign required a modern, sexy beauty.
"Because the collection loosely took its cues from the idea of the New Age traveller, we decided to create a green, outdoorsy set that would evoke a spirit of peace and love. To model the clothes, we wanted a modern, iconic, sexy beauty … It had to be Lara Stone," he said.
The campaign will use a series of images which see Stone posing on a bed of moss and surrounded by a collection of new Louis Vuitton accessories.
"It was a wonderful shoot. Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colourful and, of course, luxurious," Jacobs added.
