Most Popular Celebrity Hair Styles in 2009

1. David Beckham has his hair all figured out. After his great short cut last year, he’s put a bit of a kick into his newest do — he’s got a spiky peak in the front of his hair, which is playful without being over the top.

2. Robert Pattinson is a definite favorite among the younger crowd for his fun, tousled look. He really goes a good bit longer on top, if not on the sides or in the back, which is what allows his hair to get that very rumpled, very casual thing going on.

3. This year Brad Pitt’s hair looks especially classic at many of the big functions, he’s been sporting a very 40s look, sometimes with a bit of a quiff in front, and sometimes, presumably when he’s feeling less serious, gelled up into spikes.

4. George Clooney has a great classic style. It’s shorter on the sides, longer in front, and neatly kept in place, without the look of too much styling product. He really keeps his hair nice and shiny and healthy looking, and that look of healthy, natural hair really goes a long way.

5. Ludacris is sporting an exciting new style. This year he chopped off all of his hair, making it super short, extremely neat and tight to the head. He’s been doing some fun things with his facial hair without getting too incredibly ostentatious.

6. Simon Baker (from the Mentalist) has a somewhat different look. His curly hair is not so much combed as coaxed back into an almost classic look, but not quite tidy enough for that. It really walks the line between formal and casual, which is really nice. After a function, he can take off his suit, and throw on some old running clothes, without feeling like an idiot with his hair all gussied up.

7. David Boreanaz (Bones) has a another great classic look, a bit longer in front than George Clooney’s, but still very flattering, and still hearking back to that 40s-50s style that we’re seeing everywhere this year.

8. Zac Efron (he started out in Highschool Musical) really carries off those side-swept bangs in a way that few can. His hair has just the tiniest bit of a wave to it, so that it ends up looking very casual, yet flattering. And he doesn’t overdo it with gel, the way that so many do, once they get those side-swept bangs. Dirty looking hair just doesn’t look good on anyone, so follow a rule in his playbook and keep that styling product as minimal as you can.

9. Chace Crawford (from Gossip Girl) has a look that the women really like, with long bangs that hang straight down towards his eyes. Not many can carry this look off, but if you’ve got a long forehead, and startlingly attractive eyes, then you may want to consider it.

10. Ashton Kutcher has a great layered look with bangs and sideburns, which has a very hip feel to it, and isn’t too casual.
