BMW Cars ‘Most Reliable’

BMW’s model range of cars has been voted the most reliable in the UK.

A UK-based survey of 840,000 vehicles undertaken by Fleet News and financial consultants Grant Thornton asked leasing companies to assess reliability based on the number of breakdowns per model on each fleet.

BMW picked up the award for the second successive year, with Honda in second place, followed by Audi and Toyota.

Stephen Briers, editor of Fleet News, commented: “This is one of the largest vehicle reliability surveys of its kind and it reviews a market where cars are subjected to some of the most testing conditions they will ever face on the road.”

Steve Chater, BMW Group corporate operations manager, added that the results of the study follow a number of environmental awards picked up by the company.

Earlier this week, a report published by the European Federation for Transport and Environment indicated that BMW cut its average CO2 emissions per car by more than any other automotive manufacturer for the second year in a row.
