Growing a Mustache Could Help Guys Pick Up Girls
Growing facial hair, recently sported by the likes of David Beckham and Brad Pitt, could be the answer for guys struggling with the ladies, claims men’s health charity Movember.
Launched in a bar in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, Movember urges men to grow a mustache for the month of November to raise funds and increase awareness of diseases that affect men like prostate and testicular cancer.
Justin Coughlin, one of Movember’s founding members, told British newspaper, the Sun, that he is bombarded with emails from “Mo Bros” boasting how their newly grown facial hair helps them pick up women.
“Guys rave that the comedy mustaches have made them chick magnets,” he said.
Mr Coughlin claimed it can be an easy way to chat up women, saying the mustache can be an ice-breaker and after explaining why you’ve grown one “they’ll think you’re a great guy for giving something back”.
Last year over 170,000 men reportedly raised nearly $50 million for the charity by sporting new mustaches all over the world.
Mr Coughlin said he was amazed by the success of the charity, which started after a discussion with friends about why the mustache had become unfashionable.
