The taller a person is, the more likely they are to be satisfied with their life, a new report has shown.
A study from researchers at Princeton University in New Jersey, published in the Economics and Human Biology journal, showed that the shorter a person is, the more likely they are to have a negative outlook.
More than 450,000 people were quizzed on their height, emotional well being and where they would position themselves on a life ladder.
Men who said their lives could not be any worse were found to be approximately 2cm shorter than the average height, the research showed.
Taller-than-average men were less likely to experience negative emotions such as sadness or pain although they were likelier to become stressed and angry.
Men who did not complete high school were found to be 1.27cm shorter than the average height or 2.54cm smaller than the average man educated at college.
Adults aged 18 and over were quizzed in the research, which took place between January 2008 and April of this year.
