A previously unseen photo of Paul McCartney is to be sold off at an auction in the Beatles’ hometown of Liverpool.
The image, which shows the bassist as a child reading a comic while having his picture taken with classmates at Joseph Williams School, Liverpool in 1952, is one of more than 300 items to be sold.
Organizers are expecting thousands of Beatles fan to converge upon the Paul McCartney auditorium at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts when the sale occurs.
Another item included in the auction is a photo of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr taken while he in uniform at St Silus School.
A lithograph of a score for Beatles classic Yesterday, which has been signed by George Harrison and producer Sir George Martin, will also be included in the sale.
Stephen Bailey, manager of the Beatles Shop, which is organizing the auction, told the BBC: “This is our 19th annual memorabilia auction and you would have possibly thought that the Crown Jewels would have long since been found and sold but that is just not the case.”
The auction will take place on August 29th.
