A musical take on the Star Wars blockbusters featuring a member of the original cast is to open in the US in October.
Star Wars in Concert, which will begin in Anaheim, California on October 1st, is a multi-media event featuring music from all of the films and clips as well as live narration from C-3P0 actor Anthony Daniels.
A full symphony orchestra will play original music from the films, composed by John Williams, while Star Wars fans will be able to admire a display of props and costumes including those for Jedi masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon.
George Lucas, Star Wars creator, who has fully endorsed the show, said: “We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme.”
He explained that the exhibition should really give visitors a sense of how the music and film fitted together.
The 2.5 hour long concert is a “testament to John Williams’ creativity”, Lucas added.
Fans of the films will have a number of opportunities to catch the show as it is expected to be held at 40 locations across North America and Canada before the end of the year.
