The Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole is rumoured to be heading to the US to front a version of hit UK show the X Factor.
Co-host and pop mogul Simon Cowell has put Cole forward for the role as he thinks her northern charm and big heart will win over audiences on the other side of the Atlantic.
Senior executives and producers from NBC are thought to be flying over to the UK to watch the pop star in action at live X Factor auditions taking place this weekend for the UK show.
Cowell, who is to quit the X Factor to concentrate on Britain’s Got Talent after the next series in the UK, wants the singer to be the star attraction of the US version.
The music industry honcho cannot present the show himself as he is locked into a deal with the Fox network over American Idol.
Earlier this week Cole was spotted out in London celebrating her 26th birthday wearing a partly see-through mini-dress designed by Alexander McQueen.
Her husband, footballer Ashley Cole, threw a surprise birthday bash for the singer.
Cowell, as well bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh, joined the celebrations.
